We’re ready for you … here’s how you can make the most of it

There’s nothing like sitting back in the plane seat (or the subway seat or your car seat) and feeling tired but elated that you got about everything you could out of the event you just attended. It’s satisfying to know that your time was well spent. But more than that, it creates lasting value for you and for your organization when the experience is truly meaningful for you.

We recently ran a blog about how we know that your time is valuable and we designed Conga Connect to bring maximum value to our attendees. As both Conga Connect events approach (September 20th in London and October 3-4 in Las Vegas), we’ve got everything ready for you; now we’d like to offer a few pointers on what you can do to make the most of what these two great events will have to offer.

Define your goals

Looking at the agenda, consider what your goals are for the event and make a general plan that covers what you’d like to get out of it. For example, “I want to learn more about contract automation, attend a Conga Contracts demo, hear about what the product roadmap for Conga is, improve my pipeline efficiency, and network with other sales leaders.” You might want to list your priorities separately for each day of the event, if it’s longer than a day.

Make a plan

With those goals in mind, come back to the agenda, including keynotes, customer-led breakouts, CongaU Peaks sessions, and more. Decide what schedule you can follow to accomplish those goals. Be sure you leave some open time in your plan for the valuable conversations that spring up naturally at user events.

Set appointments

If you schedule an appointment at our Solution Stations, you can work one-on-one with one our experts to set up a new use case, troubleshoot an existing implementation, or just optimize your current use of Conga solutions. You can schedule a time slot at a Solution Station with our mobile app (London app here; Vegas app here). If you’re already a customer, Connect is also a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with your Account Manager to resolve any questions or issues.

Our new event app gives you access to the most up-to-date agenda, provides a map of the venue floor plan, even allows you to construct your own agenda for the event. You can carry that agenda around with you to help keep you on track, even reconfigure your plan on the fly if something comes up.

Network, network, network…

We don’t call it Connect for nothing. It’s widely known that nearly on par with the things you learn about technical solutions, networking is one of the most valuable things you can do at any event. But networking is a skill that requires getting beyond “Where are you from?” and “What company do you work for?” It’s a good idea to come prepared with a 30-second to one-minute spiel that explains what you do, so that you’re ready to explain it with a bit more substance than just your title.

Another good idea is to brainstorm a few questions that require a slightly more in-depth answer, like, “Do you like working for the company?” and “What projects are you working on now?” You should consider how you would answer those questions as well, as they are likely to come back at you, and they can provide a great entry into an extended conversation. Collect business cards from the people you meet so you can contact them again.

… and have fun

While networking is important business, and you should take it seriously, remember that there’s nothing to prevent you from having fun while you do it. As a matter of fact, we’ve set up both Conga Connect events so that networking and fun will take place together.

When the event is over

You’ll have some great knowledge to bring home from the event. When you’re back, don’t let a full email mailbox distract you from sharing that information. Put time on the calendar with your team or decision makers to let them know what you’ve learned and what you believe next steps should be to implement that knowledge.

You’ve made some connections; act to solidify them. Reach out to the contacts that you were really excited to speak with, in particular. Just sending a brief email to remind them of your interaction will help establish a connection that will last.
