Polk County Deploys Novatus Contracts™

ORLANDO — Novatus, a contract and compliance management software provider announces the production deployment of the On-Premises installed Novatus Contracts™ solution at the Polk County Board of Commissioners in Bartow, Florida. Polk implemented Novatus Contracts™ to manage all purchasing contracts including; complex construction contracts, technology contracts, and consulting agreements. They also use Novatus Contracts™ as an integral part of their supplier management processes.
The Polk County Purchasing Division has mandated the use of the Novatus Contracts™ system for all purchasing contracts. One of the key drivers is the automation of financial payment tracking from contract to purchase order through payments issued in their Oracle financial system. Polk receives funding from multiple sources for multi-million dollar county projects and must ensure payments comply with contracted amounts. Purchase orders and payments issued in Oracle will post automatically against the Novatus contract payment streams to track spend and enforce compliance with contracted payment amounts. Polk County also automated their supplier performance evaluations to increase participation by project managers across the county. In addition, Polk tracks supplier insurance terms and certificates and utilizes Novatus Contracts™ Event Management to proactively manage insurance expirations and renewals to ensure suppliers maintain designated coverage amounts for construction and consulting services projects. “Having all of the County’s contracts in a centralized program with capabilities to track financials, attach documents, and send event alerts for any important event within the contract is of tremendous value to the operation of the Purchasing Division,” said Buddy Storey, Purchasing Director at Polk County Board of Commissioners.
